Placing a Hold

With the patron empowerment features on MyEBSCO, you will be able to place a hold on library materials that are checked out by other patrons. Having a hold on an item means that once the item is brought back and checked in, you will be next in line to check it out! To place a hold on an item you find in EBSCO Discovery Service, click "Place Request" underneath the item's title. See below for an example:

 

You will be taken to a page where you can select the location where you want to pick up the item. Then click the Submit button:

You can also check your current holds in your MyEBSCO folder. When you are logged in while using EBSCO Discovery Service, click on "Folder" in the top right hand corner. Choose the "Requests" subfolder to view your holds. The material you requested will appear, along with your place in line for each item. See below for an example:
