Project Description

Ada Rewind • Pause • Fast Forward is a rephotography, history, and mapping project which will feature aspects of the City of Ada and the surrounding communities over the last 120 years.

The purpose of this not-for-profit project is to preserve and make public an interactive digital history which documents the passage of time and changes to our community while allowing viewers to explore both past and contemporary views of life in Ada. This is a living project that will be updated, grow, and change over time.

Project Developers

Ada Rewind • Pause • Fast Forward is being undertaken by Susan Ingram and Sarah Engel of the Mass Communication Program of East Central University.

An Ada native, Ingram teaches media writing, advertising, and public relations courses. Engel teaches primarily photography courses. Their shared interest in local history and media arts led them to this project.

Community Partnerships

Ingram and Engel seek community collaboration in locating and granting publication rights to historic photographs and media of significance to our community so that our history can be explored and shared by all.

If interested in sharing your photos, stories, or other media such as films, news clippings, etc., please contact by email sengel@ecok.edu or call 580-559-5482.
