How to Create a New York Times Account

The library purchases a subscription for all ECU students and employees to have free online access to the New York Times. To gain access, create an account with the instructions below. You can also download the New York Times mobile app in your app store. 

Accessibility

Go to library.ecok.edu and click on "A-Z Databases."

  1. Click on the "N" underneath the drop-down lists. Then scroll down to the New York Times section.
  2. Click on the AccessNYT link under "To activate your access."
  3. Login with your ECU username and password.
  4. On the "Welcome to The New York Times" page, click "Create Account"
  5. Type in your school email address and a password. Then click on "Create Account."
  6. Select your status as a student or faculty/staff and click "Sign Up."
  7. The "Start Your Access" page will tell you when your institutional pass expires.
