Main take-away: Every year ECU alumni, faculty, staff and students partner with the community to produce a regional festival. It takes many different talents and skills working together to make it happen!

  • What is Adafest?
    • Adafest is an annual festival that showcases local musicians and artist. It is sponsored by Ada Nissan and the Chickasaw Nation.
      • ECU students, faculty, staff and alumni play a huige role in making adafest happen!

  • ECU Involvement in Ada Fest
    • Students
      • Many current students served as volunteers for the event
    • Faculty and staff
      • The Nixon’s lead singer Zac Maloy was an ECU student and adjunct professor Will Boggs was the lead gutiar player in the band
      • One of the performing bands was Vlad’s Fault, which includes 3 faculty: Casey Lowery, Dr. Andrew Wells and Dr. Vladamir Ufimtsev.
      • Dr. Brad Jessop is one of the primary organizers of the event
      • Patrick Baumann created and organized AdaFest’s first film festival this year
      • Several Faculty helprd with set up work
        • “ I hope bringing film to Adafest Benefits the community by showing what is possible. ECU graduates and former ECU employees have gone on to win Awards and gain recognition just by having a dream an determination to succeed.” – Patick Baumann, Media Services Librarian
    • Alumni
      • Adam Hampton, Jason Alexander and Kenny Pitts formed Outsiders Production during their time at ECU. They showed “ Play It Loud” and Unusual Calling of Charlie Christmas” at AdaFest film festival.
